Sega Aero City Resurrection

A while back i got a cheap Aero City from redstallone.
Was not in a very bad condition, but i took the time and cleaned it up and changed some bad parts like cp surounding, cp, buttons and sticks.
Also resprayed a few parts, they had ugly scratches, to refresh the look of it.

Due to KC went down, my thread there was also lost in space.
Here for all Sega Aero City lovers again the pictures.

Resprayed a few parts outside the house

First test with my Batsugun bootleg

Almost done, cp stuff missing.

Had to wait a few days for new cp surrounding, cp, buttons and sticks

And finally all together nice and shiny with a even better "test" pcb inside. ;)

Clean job mastercello.

My thoughts.

I aint to keen on the River Service heavy duty CP surround though - why did they go with that design.

Your monitor chassis controls are accessable from the front unlike mine which are side on and are a pain to adjust as you have to go inside the back of the cab. ( Nanao MS8-26SE )

Are you going to fill the holes from the badge in the monitor hood.

Maybe you can just rotate the pcb by 90 degrees, or is the MS8-26SE completely different from the MS8-26SU version?

I think i will leave them as they are, don't bother me much.
Have you filled up yours?

Thanks for posting this again mastercello, I looked at this a lot last time when I went to collect mine - shame it wouldn't fit in the car though and I had to use a courier after all :p

Very nice.

Dont know if I could rotate the chassis however my monitor frame does not have the cut out to access the control pots anyway so that option is out.

Like most Aero cabs mine did not such holes/badge.

No Problem man... :awe:

Got it originally from YHJ auction - but there were made by riverservice.
I can imagine they might still sell them...but not sure, just write them -> http://www.rs2006.co.jp/overseas.htm

There's been a few original and RS Aero control panel uppers listed on YAJ recently. Have gone quite cheaply too - think one at weekend went for just 5000 YEN. there's also been a couple of NOS overlays turn up.

Are you looking to re-finish the CP surround? I just had mine sand blasted an powder coated. I'm not going to put any stickers back on the surround on mine, and the powder coated finish is minty.

Maybe that's not why you're asking or what you're looking to do with yours, but I thought I would throw the suggestion out there.

To the OP, looks great, great job!

Talked to River Service recently, apparently they're moving into wholesale only and won't sell to you unless you make an order of at least 300 dollars

I've never ever understood why this cab got the 1P and 2P buttons holes both on the CP and on the surroundings

Haha yeah, that's a head scratcher. I have the start button in the hole close to the joystick in my 1l7b panel, and randomly bush it while playing. Taunting at undesirable times in sf alpha 2 is never productive. Thinking about relocating it to the surround.

Because Mahjong control panels do not have start buttons.
