Sanwa PFX GET! (Sometimes I think I'm the luckiest guy...)
SO last Monday (the 19th) I started a new job. I've been incredibly busy with it so far, so I haven't had much free time to browse forums, ebay or anything of the sort. Yesterday, the 30th hits, and its my first payday woohoo! I figured, what the hell, I worked my butt off this week, lets go buy something nice for the arcade! First stop... ebay. Lately ebay has been TERRIBLE, but once in a while you luck out and find something worthwhile, and not horribly overpriced.
JUST for the hell of it, I start my search with "arcade monitor". I'm expecting the usual, a plethora of broken monitors, and wells gardner parts/monitors... but no! Today's my lucky day! I find this bad-boy mixed among the search results, and INSTANTLY do a buy it now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/29-Sanwa-flat-scree ... 0098783467
So here's why my newest acquisition is so significant... I've had a blast city for a little over 6 months now. On the freight ride, the Nanao MS2931a's flyback transformer decided to do the usual goop of death, leaving me with a bad-chassis monitor that has VERY heavy burn. Great... So I opted to get a weiya chassis to get the cab up and going. Probably not the best idea. The weiya chassis works, however the geometry sucks on 15khz, the color purity is mediocre at best, and overall, it just feels like a piece of crap... especially sitting next to two PERFECT nanao monitors (in my astros).
But yeah, I'm super excited, just had to share

Does it have onscreen ?
I recently acquired a Sanwa Tri-Sync monitor & it had onscreen, see attachment.
Aswell as a extra RGB in socket above the VGA one around the back.

Hm now thats a good question. I just got the monitor off of ebay today, she won't be shipping until monday. Hopefully its got on screen display, that'd be sweet! All of my nanao's have had analogue controls.Pete wrote:Does it have onscreen ?

Is the extra RGB socket the usual Sega monitor input? RGB, Degauss and A/C all in one connector?

Yes, you'll need to modify the bezel though as there will be gaps. Nothing major thoughwombat wrote:this particular monitor would fit a New Astro City aswell right?

I've never seen Bill back down from his viewpoint on things.
I'm a cheap ****. I learned to repair things to save money... even surface mount soldering!
My repair logs have moved to here. Enjoy!

Yeah I toned down the ego a lot in the last year or so. Neo-Geo.com sure brings out the ugly in people

Sanwa on-screen display...
Well one for starters:
Really need daylight for non-flash quality photos.
I have gaps, been a flat tube, but gaps are cool

Pete- does the OSD have an "auto calibrate" feature to auto adjust width/height? That would be just incredible if it does... (praying mine will have osd)
